Construction, Installation of the Idol, and Evolution of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple
(Under the authority of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham)
K.P.H.B. Colony, Kukatpally, Hyderabad - 500072
The construction of this temple complex was initiated by the locals on the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi in December 1985 and was registered in 1986 under the name of the Sri Venkateswara Temple Committee.
Subsequently, under the guidance of sculptor Padma Shri S.M. Ganapati Sthapati, the temple's design was refined, and it was inaugurated with a Maha Ganapati Puja on March 15, 1989. With the divine blessings of Paramahamsa Parivrajakacharya Kanchi Kamakoti Peethapati Paramacharya Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Swamiji, the Shankha (conch) was installed on June 23, 1989 (Friday, Jyeshta Bahula Panchami of Shukla Nama Samvatsara) by Sri Shankara Jayendra Saraswati Swamiji.
In January 1991, Maharaja Jayendra Saraswati Swamiji installed the Shankha at the Raja Gopuram, and the construction of the Mahadwara was completed under the supervision of sculptor Sri Madiyalagan.
As per the decision of the devotees, the temple management was handed over to Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham in August 1992, with the agreement to be governed by a committee elected by the people under their guidance.
The installation of the temple idol and the flagpole, along with the Maha Kumbhabhishekam celebrations, took place from June 12 to 18, 1993 (starting on Saturday, Jyeshta Bahula Ashtami of Srimukha Nama Samvatsara to Friday, Jyeshta Bahula Trayodashi), conducted under the leadership of Sri Shankara Jayendra Saraswati Swamiji and Jagadguru Sri Shankara Vijendra Saraswati Swamiji.
On June 14, 1993, during Dasami Monday at 7:19 AM, the idol was installed under the Revati Nakshatra in Mithuna Lagna, and on June 18, 1993, during Trayodashi Friday at 8:10 AM, the Kumbhabhishekam was performed under the Krittika Nakshatra in Karakatta Lagna.
